Albino A. Marcolli
Biography
"Crossing through wonder, right from the start, is freedom."
Albino Angelo Marcolli was born on March 4, 1948, in Albizzate, in the province of Varese. From an early age, he showed an interest in art and graduated from the Beato Angelico Art High School. But being a Lombard—pragmatic and grounded—he turned to a field that, in the 1960s and 70s, appeared particularly dynamic and vibrant.
We’re talking about advertising. In this area, he attended the Davide Campari Advanced School of Advertising Techniques, became an art director, and signed important advertising campaigns.
He also helped found a small advertising agency, Green, which made a mark on the Italian creative scene in the 1970s.
Then, over the years, he felt the “call of the Blue” and returned to devote himself fully to art.
He began working on mural painting (with works in Italy, Switzerland, and Brazil) and created “The Fossils”: watercolors, catalogued and numbered in collections. He also worked in portraiture. In research.
“In listening, in the everyday.”
Now, here he is, engaging with the new experience of Painted Papers. And here, he lets himself be surprised by flashes and transparencies in “The Places of Breath.”
It is Freedom in Wonder.
